About the Artist
Boris Khechoyan began carving in 1978 at the Azerbaijan College of Fine Arts and earned his Master Woodcarver Certificate in 1985. Trained in Gothic, Rococo, Empire and Classicism, he specializes in inlay, incrustation, Mother of Pearl, bone carving, and architectural woodwork.
Since immigrating to the United States in 1991, Boris has won top awards at the International Woodcarvers Congress three years running, carved a chair gifted to Pope John Paul II during his 1999 visit to St. Louis, and been featured on HGTV and in publications nationwide.

Design was carved from 2 blocks of wood Mahogany and Walnut and attached to the Mahogany base. With delicate and intercede carving leaves and flowers which can be seen throuh the liht.
